Our History

Coastal Economic Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit regional economic development corporation servicing 11 communities along New Hampshire's beautiful and economically-active Seacoast. Founded in 1998 by a group of business and civic leaders, CEDC has grown into one of the most active and respected economic development corporations in the State.

As the recognized intermediary between private businesses and many public financing agencies, CEDC can access Federal and State business finance programs that are available to keep our regional economy one of the strongest in the State. CEDC also partners with our regional and local banks to help provide subordinate financing to projects that the traditional lenders have deemed credit-worthy but are lacking adequate capital for completion.

Since our inception, CEDC has provided more than $15 million in direct financing to our region's businesses, which leveraged more than $60 million in additional private financing. In addition to our financing programs, CEDC owns and operates a 35,000 square foot business center in Hampton, NH and has recently opened the state-of-the-art Coastal Video Conference Center.

After almost 15 years in operation, CEDC is going as strong as ever. With an engaged Board of Directors, and committed staff, CEDC is always looking at ways to improve the delivery and breadth of our programs that help business move into or grow within the Seacoast Region of New Hampshire.
